The genealogy room of the Beale Memorial Library is staffed by volunteers of the Kern Genealogical Society. The genealogical collection is a significant source of information on the history of Kern County and that of its citizens for researchers.
The Kern Genealogy Room is a non-circulating library of over 5000 historical reference books, genealogical records, and original documents of local interest. There is no fee to use the collection. Copies of documents are available for $.15 per page. The genealogy room is located on the second floor of the Beale Memorial Library at 701 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, CA.
